Grabbed an opportunity to get out in the snow - and walk to the source of the river Severn
Llyn Clywedog, Mid Wales
One of the river Severn's main flood controls but also a reservoir (built in 1965-7 and the target of a bomb which caused some damage). Behind are the snow covered mountains of Plynlimon
Great thing about snow is that it'll "highlight" an otherwise dark foreground
Up on the top above the treeline. The route used to be a boggy nightmare (and add a good hour to the walk) but is now an excellent path (albeit hidden under the snow here!)
A rest and catchup time for those phone calls!
Marker post for the source of the river Severn - the actual spring appears to be in the foreground of this shot
Returning back down to the car. Altogether a thoroughy enjoyable walk
Hope to find some time next week to upload some more snowy Mid Wales shots
