Done the same at Castle Combe....although got in trouble as I thought they said it had a rev limiter of 4000 rpm, so I ignored the rev counter & went for it......I seemed to be flying past the others & getting backfires from the engine
I got black flagged & when I went back in the pits, the mechanics went mental saying they thought I was going to blow the engine up.....little did I know they actually said "kepp the revs to a limit of 4000 rpm"
