Cheap Editing Software

I've seen several requests from time to time asking for reccomendations for inexpensive editing software. Mostly we tend to mention the availability of free trials from the major players and the free Gimp software.

Now there is a new kid on the block. Tesco Photo Restyle retails at £9.97, yes, £9.97 and supports cropping, selections, blur, curves, levels, hue/saturation, amongst other features AND layers! There are one-click fixes and lots of manual tools.

I bought a copy for one of my Sons for a tree pressey at Christmas after he took umpteen shots of my Grandson with his compact, all of which had red-eye! I've only just got around to installing it on his computer, and I was really impressed.

The supported file types are a bit lacking, no tif is available, but at the price it is a steal.

I've seen reviews that say the quick-fix feratures are not so good, but overall the package scored 4/5 stars. Certainly, for my computer illiterate Son, who only wants to do the very basic corrections and cropping, it is both cheap and very easy to use.
