Silkstone,
Kennacraig ferry terminal is a wee bit awkward to get to.If you drive, instead of going via Inverary and Loch Fyne you can get a ferry from Ardrossan, on the Clyde coast, to Brodick on Arran then drive the short distance to Lochranza and catch another ferry to Claonaig, which is just south of Tarbert, which in turn is only a few miles from Kennacraig.
Coming up from England, the expense of these 2 ferries may be offset by the reduced driving distance?.If you dont drive there is a bus service from Glasgow to Tarbert and I would imagine a local bus connecting to Kennacraig timed for the ferries.A nice island but not as 'rugged' as Mull.Or Arran, which is actually worth a holiday visit in its own right!!
