Hi Matt

I have seen similar shots, and have wanted to do this kind of image. Lazy.

Anyway, I think that the light from the left is so strong that the details of the fork are lost. And in fact, there may not be many details in a stainless steel fork! Also the shadow is a bit overpowering.

I would like to see this sort of shot using an object with more detail and texture. Perhaps a sterling utensil (if anyone still has those), because the work on those is really good. Or maybe a paper towel shmushed up in an irregular form, or an old pot or pan or a teacup.

And watch the light. You don't want the subject completely is shadow.
