) It might suit not the subject so much as the weather conditions here. No, I guess the skyline couldn't be avoided, unless Rob were to grow wings to gain the extra height ... he couldn't climb down at all, if you remember, for a lower viewpoint
The skyline doesn't bug me. I think the castle has to protrude over the top, to give it height; if it were below the skyline, it would lose perspective IMO.
