My brother is in a football team and is hassling me to go and photograph them for team magazine and stuff. I got the same lens as you and haven't as yet had the nerve
Seems like a fairly good first attempt, I'm sure I'll find the same about either the players or the ball in shot and not both!!
I'll post some when I've given it a go
