I like the monos better.
For my taste, I prefer seeing just a tiny bit of the faces in the shadow. The contrast between seen and unseen is just too great for me, and I have trouble imagining the dark side of the figures.
On the other hand, maybe that is what makes the impact of these images.
Terrific job with simple lighting. I would really like to know your settings. Did you use a tripod?
