Sue i think you are close to getting very good results!I take a shot look at it on the camera monitor scrolled in as much as possible.then alter camera settings in small increments and only one at a time..take another shot and make another change.By taking a number of shots with a variety of settings you usually get some good ones ,as you gain experience you learn what camera settings will work in the prevailing conditions.I hope that helps ,at least with digital it dosnt matter how many you delete. David
