I like both versions here but entirely agree that the twig going across the feather shouldn't be there. I know you said you left it exactly as was but I would have removed that bit. The rest is lovely and it's a well focused and composed shot. I also like the frame you did for it Fi, looks great. I think for the overall result I would perhaps go for a middle ground between the two shots as Mark's is a bit too OTT, especially the sharpening and the saturation. I'd back it of from there but I must be honest and say the original is a lovely shot, twig aside.
