Yes, shots like this are incredibly difficult because of the lighting. In this case, the whole image points to the bright light upper left. The eye travels to the brightest subject first, and in addition there is a straight line from the girl lower right to that light. Finally, the left half of the image is pretty well lit, and the right half isn't.
I assume that this is a production number and the focus is on the production, not any one person or thing, but that doesn't exactly come off here.
Perhaps you have other shots of this number where there isn't someone blowing fire or holding a stick of fire, I can't tell which! Also the image is a bit tilted down to the left.
While we are all happy as heck to get any images at all from a performance, they are incredibly difficult to do well.
