Been wanting to 'get up close and personal' with a wind farm for a long time - and what could be more perfect than the first wind farm in Wales at Mynydd y Cemmaes near Machynlleth in Mid Wales, with it's twelve turbines.
I confess to be a supporter of wind farms but did have a couple of reservatons, like potential noise and vibration issues. But I was amazed at how quiet and solid they were.
OK they're not the largest turbines but they're still big (you can just see the doorway in the silhouette shot - it's half the height of the skyline to the base). And even with my ear pressed to the column support I couldn't hear/feel much! Oh, and that was in wind speeds of approx 30 mph - not the fastest, I know, but still an indication, I feel.
And the promised dreadful infrastructure of concrete roads, pylons, etc? Nothing! A small, obviously good quality track was all, nothing else.

Not to everyo's taste, I'm sure, but I liked the polarised sky and angle

I'll upload another batch tomorrow - one's that show a little more movement (which I preferred to the static look)
