I was doing a little housecleaning of stray files on the laptop the other day prior to doing a wipe / reinstall of WinXP (had been playing up for a few days) and I came across some NEF files I'd almost forgotten about.
The following shots were taken during a three week trip to North America - these ones in particular at a zoo in south New Jersey. I'd only gotten my 70-200VR lens a week before heading over there so this was my first 'real' test of the lens.

and now drying off in the sun, but annoyed by the noise the cougar next door is making
if anyone ever wonders if they should get a 70-200VR lens, just look at the detail it can resolve.
The following is a 100% crop from shot #2, showing pixel-for-pixel detail as captured.
Granted it was shot on a D2X, but you'd get nearly the same detail with a D200, D80 or D40x
