Pricing dilemma
I took photos at a music festival last year on a whim for a music magazine I freelance with. They published a few of the shots, I got paid 50 bucks for it, both sides were happy. End result: I was contacted by the guy running the event for this year about press kit photos and shooting the upcoming festival.
I've never actually had a request like this come up, so I have no idea how to price it.
Specifics of the deal:
1. Press Kit
The guy who is running the gig also happens to be one of the DJ's who performed last year. I have pictures of him during his show. He wants to use some of them for his press kit.
2. The Festival
The festival is coming up in a few months, and he expressed interest in having me as one of the event photographers. It's an all day gig, four or five music stages, easily 150 booths/vendors, and draws a fairly large crowd. No charge to attend.
So for any of you who have done this kind of thing in the past, any tips you can offer in terms of pricing would be most appreciated. It's still wide open in terms of bargaining, and I need an idea of what I should be asking for my price. Thanks!
