I've been wanting to visit this location for ages - 'Another Place', Antony Gormley @ Crosby Beach. I've yet to visit his 'Angel Of The North' but, although probably not as well known, this was much higher up my list and features 100 cast iron statues on the beach. Alhough a cool breeze, weather was perfect in all other respects!
The View
All the statues look out to sea and are fairly well spread out, so you get those that are left high and dry and those that are in the water most of the time
The Passers-by
The Clouds
Even the tower blocks fail to ruin the composition. Was pleased with this, seeing as I held my camera at arms length over my head (to ensure head didn't cross horizon) - surely proving that an angle finder is one of the most useful of tools (and great value!). Delberatly went for the central comp (seeing as I rarely do!)
The Sky
Another angle finder shot
The Spectator
To be fair this guy did initially start by viewing the statue (or us taking pics!) but then turned to face the sea
Comments, good, bad or indifferent, all very welcome!
