Our young horse, Zeus, did his first show yesterday and I was there as lorry driver and general dogsbody but also to take some pics. Out of all of them my wife liked the one below but did not like the white rope on there which was a control headcollar so last night she asked if I could remove it in Photoshop. Having looked at closely I thought it would be easier and quicker to go and try and recreate the shot the next time I was at the stables. Uh oh!

Some parts were relatively easy but other areas like the area of knots behind his eye were very difficult, particularly when I had to create bridle straps from scratch to hopefully include stitching and aging (it is quite an old bridle). In all it took about two hours to do. It is almost finished and just needs a bit of tweaking here and there but I'm quite pleased with how it has gone so far. It was all done using the clone stamp tool and varying the softness and opacity. More importantly, she likes it!
