I do like the blurred water tstuff but to be honest it is in danger of becoming a bit cliched now. When done well with a lovely interewting water fall cascading over rocky outcrops it is unbeatable but sometimes it os done for the sake of it, almost as if to cover up for other deficiencies in the shot.
Go on, go back and take two shots using the same composition so we can make a proper comparison :o)

I agree about the blurred water stuff, it seems to be contrived these days. I would go one further and say I don't even like it in waterfall shots. Every magazine is full of milky waterfalls these days.
