Re: Where Do You Go To Shoot Landscapes?

Depending on whether going for a shot, going for a walk/hike or going from A to B.

If the first, don't use books (never look at) or photos (as I don't want to be swayed), so try and go to places that are not really visited. Rarely works, so end up taking the shot you've seen a thousand times before!

Walk/hike I almost always go off a circular walk (so have a good set of books/guides) and use combo of the guide, OS map and GPSr

Downside to the A to B is that you're usually not at the right time of day, weather and can't see/think of a good location! I frequently drive South Wales/Peak District and have "cut the corner" to take in the Malvern Hills as things were looking good. By the time I get there the sun's gone, it's freezing cold and for some strange reason I've lost all incentive to take a shot!
