SONY HAS come up with a spanking new prototype image sensor for digicams which could allow for up to 60 high-res photos to be taken per second - good news for papparazzi.

The breakthrough was made with a six megapixel CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensor which is able to turn light into electronic signals.
