We took our young horse to his second show yesterday and Jan being Jan decided to go for the big one. :shake: We really only took him for the experience of travelling and getting used to arenas, horses, lorries, people etc. Anyway, this was the British Dressage Young Horse Championship at Addington Manor in Bucks and is primarily for breeders and others in the industry to identify future potential stars in the dressage world, there were some serious horses there, including some that had made the trip from Germany, that probably cost 15-20 times what Zeus cost us so the competition was going to be strong. We were under no illusions about our chances as were there just for the day out and to help him mature.
The little git only went and came second in his class and such qualified for the Championship later in the day where he came fourth!

Obviously Jan is now grinning from ear to ear.
Exposure was a nightmare, white clothing and dark horses do not make a good mixture!
All the grooming and preparation is done and nervous Mum just waits..
Making his way to the arena...
Rosette time, and even a cheque to go with it....
