The Member of the Month award has been introduced as a way for the Pixalo Crew to show their appreciation to a different Pixalo member for their continued effort here. It will be awarded to a member for any number of reasons and not just for outstanding photography (although that could also be justification). The award could be given due to a members post quality, dedication to Pixalo or helping other Pixalo users, providing information, making a good suggestion to help the Crew or make the Pixalo experience better, being vigilant of our rules or for just being an all round ‘nice guy or girl’.
The award runs for one full calendar month, the MotM will be awarded 50 reputation points and during that month will have their 'status' changed to reflect the award plus have the choice of accepting our new (
and groovy) MotM avatar (see it below). At the end of the month a new member will be selected, the previous award holder’s status will be reset & the avatar (if you accepted it) will be moved to the new title holder.
This award is not a ‘once only’ win either, depending on the situation it will be possible for the same member to become MotM more than once, although they would have to be just as deserving to win it a second or third time.
As it is not always possible for us to be aware of some of the lengths some members go to with helping others (we know people help others using the PM system and by email as well as off the site and through messenger services) so if you would like to suggest someone or yourself for this award please send a PM to either Dave or Steve and all applications will be discussed by the Crew and considered on merit.
The first Member of the Month will be awarded at the beginning of August. This individual has already been chosen by the Crew.
