You certainly achieved that Fi
but I still think the impact would have been even greater if the whole face were in focus, thus reinforcing the closeness of it, or otherwise you could try adding a bit of motion blur for effect; as it is, it's neither in sharp focus nor blurred. Just an idea, anyway, + my personal interpretation
