Re: first post--- winter pic (we know its coming!!!)

Gosh, jumping straight in for a critique ... now that's brave

Firstly, welcome to pixalo

You're right, it isn't terribly sharp, which makes it a little difficult to critique without mentioning that ... so mooooving on ...

I like the composition, some nice shapes + patterns in there, + your subjects are well placed within the frame.

I'm a little confused by the blue tree trunks Looks like this was intentional, but looks a little odd ... are they p'raps Xmas lights

I like the 3 flares which draw attention to the central tree, as the tree itself is a little flat (tonally) + benefits from the flares drawing attention to that area. I find the trailing headlights on the RHS a little distracting, mainly because there's no car attached to them

The image is rather underexposed + could also use a little more contrast. I also think a bit of sharpening would bring out more detail. There's quite a bit of detail hidden due, not to being blurred or unsharp, but mainly due to the image being so dark; the detail is there - especially in the foreground - but I have to strain to see it. I realise it's a nighttime (twilight) shot, but p'raps a bit of post-processing could brighten it up a bit.

Lots of potential with this one Not a bad image for your debut, dude
