D80 AF-assist illuminator lamp stopped lighting up

Under no circumstances does my AF-assist illuminator lamp light. The last time I would have actually made a point of using it would have been months ago, but I don't know for sure when the last time I saw it light up was.

A few days ago I was hit by a car on my bike while wearing the D80 around my neck. It was a pretty slow impact and while I needed stitches in my ankle, I didn't break any bones and I reflexively (stupidly?) used my left hand to protect my camera through it all, and snapped photos while I waited for the ambulance.

So, my question are:

I've gone through and turned it on and off multiple times in the menu and looked through the manual and camera menus. Is there anything I can do that might turn it back on?

With everything else working on the camera fine, what are the odds that the AF-assist bulb broke from some kind of impact? (That or anything else)

How do I go about getting this fixed? (I'm in Japan and bought the camera in Japan in early March.)
