Re: Negatives

Developing a negative or print has three basic stages - developer, stop bath and fixer. The developer dissolves away the unexposed parts of the coating, the stop bath stops the reaction (surprise surprise!) and the fixer makes the changes permanent.

Once the neg or print has been through those stages, it is safe to expose it to white light (although it will tend to fade over a period of time, so negs should be stored in the dark.)
