i my main line of photography, you will be hard pushed to find me with less than 3 slaves or using less than 2. Without these flashes, everything would be so flat... what i do suggest is getting a trigger and receiver, optical slaves aren't as good because they work only in line of site and other peoples flashes set them off. The ebay ones have never failed me. you get 2 receivers and a trigger for around £30 from hong kong including delivery. Although, if i had the money, pocket wizards would be 'the business'
