They tell the truth alright! Car was serviced today (small independent garage who know the meaning of the word service, are pleasant and do a fantastic job without charging an arm and a leg) -
"Yup, you were right it's your radiator fan that doesn't work. Seems that BMW make the fan and cowling as a single part, so they're the only ones who'll supply it: £175 + VAT"
So, I'm looking forward to summerless summers (it's only on hot days in traffic jams after burning down the mototway that I need it - and the heater still works to prevent overheating!). Winter forever!
