those who have been in "what camera to buy" know i just took delivery friday of the above camera and lens - the shots below are from yesterday trying to learn the new camera (up from the d200) and lens (up from the 80-400vr).

all at iso 200, aperture priority, all hand-held, pelican and great blue heron cropped a little bit......
in short, for the first time out with this gear i think it totally rocks! i never thought i would be able to hand hold a 7+lb lens that well.
my arms and shoulder are tired, i need to hit the weights so i can do better......
