It's all done in photoshop. The trick is to have all the bits for several images in layers in photoshop. That way all alignments can be set up to the nearest pixel.
For each tree in
A is for Apple the insets and the titles were all set up in layers in one PS file.
When everything is lined up then each image is created by selecting the right layers for that image and saving the result as a jpeg file. In the AV you can get perfect alignment from image to image with no hassle.
It is possible to use layers in ProShow gold or Pictures to Exe but you have much better control in Photoshop and don't have to fiddle with alignment when making up the AV.
We had a talk at the Cheltenham Camera Club a couple of years ago by someone who said that he made up all of the images for each AV in layers in one Photoshop file.
