Rumours are rife around the release of a Canon 5D MKII, under the guise of Canon 7D. Following spec is being banded around :-
- Full frame 12M pixel CMOS sensor
- Dust & water proof magnesium alloy body
- 14-bit DIGIC III processor
- 5 frames per second
- Auto dust reduction
- 35 area light metering system
- 15 point cross focusing AF system.
- ISO 50-3200, extendable to 6400 or 12800
- 16:9 shooting at 8M pixels
- Viewfinder: 96% vision field, 0.71x
- Liveiew via 3.0 inch, 0.92 million pixel LCD (640*480 VGA)
- HDMI connector
- EF-S lenses not supported
Now the most interesting figure is estimated rrp of £850 / £$1,700
Personally I can't see this being right, as it massively undercuts current 5D price
So what do others think ... is this going to happen , or is it all hype ??
