White LED torches for macro photography ???

I am planning to do some indoor macro photography ( as soon as I have bought a suitable lens ) and I was wondering about the suitability of the relatively small LED torches as a light source. They are small enough to easily fit into laboratory clamps and thus easy to position and emit little heat. The spectrum looks well spread out across the visible region although with a peak in the blue. I assume that a custom white balance will sort that out.

Now the question. Has anyone used these lights and what were the results like.
