None of those things! That's how a deep blue sky really looks, although you tend to notice it more in photos. The sky lightens towards the horizon, and some people go to a great deal of trouble with graduated overlay layers to fake the effect!
P.S. A superwide lens will show the effect more, simply because there's more 'height' of sky in the shot.
