I would crop the left side in,
,,it's just me. Don't really like the black clouds. As to removing the halo,,I guess your talking about the edges of your tree, "I am on a dumb computer". I can tell you that for this kind of edge enhancement I like the eraser, the smudge tool and just plain old masking. The smudge tool with the tree blown up can push pixels of like color togather and the eraser tool used with a light opacity and clean up edges,,all on a new layer of course,,,your picture looks like fun,, Good luck.
