If I where given the choice of an Imac or a Dell, even though I'm not a MAC lover ( lack of experiance ) I'd save up and buy the mac and relearn everything.
I'm afraid through experience I'm not a lover of Dells through very bad experience in my job. They tend to be the least reliable and one of the worst to set up when they do go wrong.
Maybe a change of brand might be a alternative
