The idea behind this is original to me, however I get the feeling that this processing was an after thought to see what could be done to the images. Both versions of the image work well enough by themselves but neither is spectacular, that I think is the problem. I think if you had a very strong starting image and applied the same process then the end result would be much more interesting.
Whenever I want to try something new I make a point of doing so on an image that was either taken specifically for the test, or one that I am confident would be perfect for it. If you start from the point where you are not using the best possible its going to show in the results and could mean that in the long run you discard a new process or style that could actually have worked very well.
I hope you can see what I am trying to say and view my comments positively...because that's how they are intended

I've given this some thought when working on the few other shots I took for this blend and know I need to use a tripod for sure. I am already looking at reflected subjects and backgrounds and feel that your advise in this matter is right on..it's almost going to be like shooting hdr in a sense. Thanks for the insight Steve, it's helping plan it all out
