If you go into the members gallery you will find on the LHS of the menu bar three options. One of them is 'My Albums' If you click on that link you should be able to create a new album in the next page.
You do not have to upload into an album, you can upload into any of the galleries directly if you want. The links are on the RHS of the menu bar.
