CPU's won't be destroyed until about 80c
However they run best around the 50 - 55 degrees level.
The CPU fan and heatsink assembly should really have been changed as a unit
BUT, the lugs on the CPU socket can snap off if not replaced carefully.
I don't think you'll have any more problems but just monitor it for a few more hours and see how you go
