Plenty to look at there.
Currently I have two machines with 19" 1280x1024 LCD monitors on each. I fancy a larger widescreen on the new one for the reason Dabs suggested, especially since prices have come down so much.
There seems to be a good choice of 22" screens, but not so much at 24". Maybe 24" is a bit OTT.
