For photo work if you can find one it might be a good idea to get a wide Gamut monitor. Until recently I had a LaCie 26" which I liked, I don't know if they do a 22" I think just a 21 24 and 26.
I've just picked up one of the new CG Eizo's and I know they make 22" CG which I am sure would suit very well. Apart from the size I can't see any improvement over the cheaper and almost certainly better value LaCie it was just easier to set up. If LaCie made a 30" I would have got it and not felt like I was missing anything.
