This is a series of pictures I took last weekend. I thought I would post them up to get some feedback. Landscape is more familiar territory for me as that is what I always used to shoot so hopefully these are not too bad!
For this first image I set my EOS 400D up on a tripod with the stock 18-55mm lens and a Cokin P-series G2 grad at an angle to cover the top right-hand corner where the sun was strongest. I then shot a series of frames as the sun went down. This was the one that captured the scene best. I had to remove some floating litter and an awkwardly placed life buoy using Photoshop and at the same time I boosted the saturation in the clouds a little.
The next two images were taken back to back, the first facing away from the sun and the second facing towards the sun. I have tried to do something about the sky in the second image but it is totally burned out. I looked at cropping but then I lose the effect of the trees along the left-hand side which was the whole point of the picture.
This last image was one of a series I took in the local park. Obviously it has been cropped as I decided to remove the foreground which was just snow.
This was the only day of snow we have had this year (in fact the first in several years). I was awoken by my wife at 7am to tell me that everything was white. I seriously considered rolling over and going back to sleep but I'm glad I didn't! I was out of the house before 7.30 and spend almost two hours shooting. By lunchtime all the snow had gone!
Anyway, I hope you like them. Constructive observations very welcome.
