Exclamation Worst... shooting... conditions... ever...

The band "We Are Scientists" mixed the following concoction for me last night

1. No forward spotlighting
2. Stage and musicians are backlit and sidelit, often with strobes
3. Occasional blasts from floor level floodlights aimed at ceiling in front of musicians
4. You're shooting ISO 200 one second, then ISO 1600 the next
5. There seems to be a constant rain half-full of beer cups launched towards the pit barrier

It felt more like "first three songs, no chance in hell of a shot" than first three, no flash. All I can say it thank God for Nikon, RAW and NoiseNinja. I shot 239 frames, and only 29 were approaching useable - all of which needed a healthy dose of RAW processing to reach this point.

Small wonder that it was only myself and one other student photographer in the pit
