I'm interested to read your comment about the difference in saturation between TIF and JPEG. I have had problems lately with a couple of pictures I posted to the gallery looking very different to how they appear on my PC during editing and you have me wondering if it is the same effect.
I think it's to do with 'colour space'.In camera and photoshop I'm using Adobe RGB or whatever but when I 'save for web' it is automatically sRGB or whatever..When I have saved for web and re-opened in photoshop to give the saturation a tweak I save that file and close it.I then just double click on it and it opens in Picture Viewer and shows how it will appear on the web etc. This is my 'method' as I find it sorts the problem out. However, there may be a way to avoid the problem in the first place,I just am not aware of it.There has been threads about this if you use the search function on Pixalo.Or maybe someone with the knoweledge will read this and put you,and me,right)
