In Réponses Photo. They put 9 studio flash kits, including the D-Lite 4 kit, to the test and worked out the best VFM.
The cheapest they had was the Interfit Venus 300 kit, which they said was good because of its metal construction, and its amplitude, but doesn't have a very practical pilot lamp, and the light tube is exposed (whatever that means [2nd thing])
D-Lite 4 kit was the third cheapest. They like having 2 softboxes, the active ventilation, its digital display, and its power; but they say the pilot lamp isn't powerful, they don't like the plastic body/case, and call the tripods 'heavy and basic'.
Dunno what you make of that!
I might write up more of it, but it's actually quite hard translating that kind of thing...
Just thought you lot might find it of interest,
