If you are seeing them on your pictures then it's either sensor dust or dust on your lens. If you are seeing them only when you look through the viewfinder then you can rule out sensor dust and look at dust in the viewfinder or on the mirror inside the camera body.
All areas can be cleaned to remove the specks but the methods used will vary depending on where the actual specks are.
