It depends, I guess due to fact that not many mint ones come onto the UK 2nd hand market keeps the prices quite high. For example that same site has a 2nd hand EF400 DO IS going for £2500 but you can import a new one for £2800, so the 2nd hand price level is (unfortunately for us bargain hunters) not yet influenced too much by import prices.
