I have two monopods, a Giottos and a
Manfrotto MN682B (which is the same as J Sotelo's).
Both have mini fold out legs that you can use 'in an emergency' or as light stands for flash guns.
When I do running events, a monopod is
vital. A typical 10K will take about an hour for everyone to pass through a particular point. 300 - 600 runners and anything from 2000 - 4000 frames = tired arms
