Man. That looks like a kick ass lens! I found another review of it here:
Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED which pretty much backs up everything you wrote in yours Charlotte. I need to go blow the moths out of the wallet and see what pennies are lodged down the back of the sofa.
[Edit] Looks like it also won Lens of the Year Award 2007 in Amateur Photographer magazine.
