Re: Question re prime lenses

Mark's hit the nail on the head there. AF systems like having more light to play with and that accounts for why high end lenses with wider apertures tend to be faster than others. But as a difference between prime and zoom, there isn't a huge difference when talking same focal length and aperture. Not saying a prime might not be very slightly faster but you're talking such small as makes no difference.
