Sunday stroll

Yesterday was very, very windy in this neck of the woods - not the kind of day for photography - so I decided my best chance would be to mooch around a disused railway track that has some deep cuttings where things would be a little sheltered.
On my way I spotted a field where the Rape had died back leaving the Poppy flowers to dominate. The contrast with the fast moving clouds was just too much for me to ignore but it was almost mission impossible as the Poppy heads were dancing around like demented dancers in the near gale force winds. I usualy find in any wind there are pockets of calm maybe lasting only for a split second and I did my best to try and hit one of these. Hence my strange exposure of 1/800 sec. @ f9 @200 ISO.

Just for good measure I snapped the hill, mainly for the strong clouds.

Reaching the track I was delighted to find lots of Orchids, I don’t know much about 0rchids and was unsure whether some were different varieties or had just lost colour with age. However I photographed a few of them. Anybody like to hazard a guess as to what they are?

Thought of what to do to get an individual head and decided to select one in PSP then blur everything else in the shot
