Re: Should I trade my D40 for a D70s?

From a personal point of view, I find the D40 too small and prefer the feel and handling of the chunkier D70s - and I have got small hands too.

I'm not sure if there is any sensor difference in the two cameras, but I think the D40 has three focus points whereas the D70s has five. The D70s will, of course use any AF lenses, and there might be other features that were stripped out of the D40 in order to allow it to be priced competitively. When I bought my D70s around three years ago, with the 18-70 kit lens it cost around £740 - close on $1500!

I think that you need to compare the specifications of both models to see where the differences lie.
